THEATRE TOUR IN VORONEZH AS A PART OF A. PLATONOV ART FESTIVAL
On June 5 and 6, the Oleg Tabakov Theatre presented “The Epifan Locks” based on Andrey Platonov’s story (director – Marina Brusnikina; stage design – Nikolai Simonov) to the Voronezh public. The play was performed as a part of the International A. Platonov Festival, which took place in the city for the sixth time. Our theatre has already participated in the festival: in 2011, the local public watched “The Story of Gleeful Moskva” based on A. Platonov’s unfinished story.
On June 5, a press-conference was held in the Voronezh Press House with the creators of the production (Marina Brusnikina and Nikolai Simonov) and the actors (Ivan Shibanov, Anastasiya Timushkova, Alexander Samsonov). Prior to it, a delegation of our theatre laid flowers at the foot of Andrey Platonov monument to pay tribute to the memory of the outstanding Russian writer. Later that evening, “The Epifan Locks” was performed on stage of the Voronezh Youth Theatre.
The house was full two days running. Our production was warmly received by the public, who thanked the actors with a storm of applause.
